Alicona
Mobile surface roughness measurement including form can now be easily achieved using the Alicona IF-Profiler, a portable 3D measurement system to measure traceable surface roughness and form.
This exceptional system offers highly accurate and high-resolution results within seconds, the lightweight IF-Profiler consists of a 3D measurement sensor and a robust and handy framework. This construction combined with a small control server enables fast and easy change of measurement positions or measurement locations.
The Alicona IF-Profiler is an ideal partner for quality assurance in production and research environments, it combines the functionalities of a 3D surface roughness measurement device and a micro coordinate measurement machine. Users can measure roughness and form of both, flat and curved components. A unique illumination technology (patent pending) enables optimized illumination of surfaces for short exposure times, and fast measurements.
Both profile based and areal-based measurements are performed, allowing a numerical verification of local roughness and surface state.
The IF-Profiler is mobile, flexible and easy to use, it achieves flexible measurements and applications at high measurement speed. Depending on the application, users can achieve results within 3 seconds. A useful working distance up to 34 mm, combined with a measurement field of up to 10 mm x 10 mm enables a wide range of measurable components. High-resolution measurement of highly polished components or components with various coatings can be challenging for many techniques, the Alicona IF-Profiler achieves results quickly and easily through motorized polarization.
The Alicona IF-Profiler fits with a multitude of applications, especially where traceable measurements and high repeatability are of value such as quality assurance of car bodies, steel plates, print rolls, turbine or rotor blades, steel and body type surfaces.
The IF-Profiler is ideal for the measurement of surface finish and form, even of large and heavy components.
The IF-Profiler is based on Focus-Variation for area based 3D surface measurement, a technology with high measurement point density, which enables form and roughness measurement of surfaces across large measurement areas and volumes. Every measurement value automatically includes information for estimating the measurement uncertainty. As an area based technology, Focus-Variation is already included to the most recent EN ISO 25178.
