Under the motto “Power for the Future”, WITTMANN BATTENFELD will present to its guests innovative injection moulding technology, automation and peripheral equipment at this year’s Competence Days in Kottingbrunn/Austria. In conjunction with the Competence Days, the company’s new assembly hall for large machines will also be officially opened.
Power for the future comes from today’s innovations. In view of this, WITTMANN BATTENFELD has completely revised and extended its project range over the last few years. The company offers its customers ultra-modern, innovative injection moulding machines and equipment, together with numerous pioneering processes to accomplish their tasks. Its “Power” is reflected in the machines of the PowerSeries, as well as in its consistent use of energy-saving ServoPower drive systems in hydraulic machines. State-of-the-art, specialized machinery and process technologies also provide the customers with a number of options to manufacture their products with even better quality, more attractive looks, and more efficiency than before as well.
But WITTMANN BATTENFELD is also deriving “Power” for the future from its new assembly hall for large machines. This hall, dedicated to the assembly of the company’s large machine model, the MacroPower, places a total of 3,000 m2 additional production space at WITTMANN BATTENFELD’s disposal. For the WITTMANN group’s Competence Days, the new hall will be used to showcase both MacroPower exhibits with interesting applications and large machinery in the process of being assembled.
During the Competence Days, the entire product portfolio of the WITTMANN BATTENFELD group of companies will be presented to the visitors, including 17 injection moulding machines and extensive peripheral equipment.
The main focus in the range of machinery on display will lie on machines from the PowerSeries. On the MicroPower machines exhibited, the production of a micro LSR part for medical technology will be demonstrated for the first time. The exhibits from the innovative EcoPower series will concentrate mainly on the packaging sector with IML technology and high-precision injection moulding.
The highlight on display from the MacroPower series, which is now complete, will be the first large MacroPower E Hybrid machine. The hybrid version of the MacroPower features the ultimate in precision and dynamics thanks to its all-electric injection unit, and optimal energy efficiency with its servo-hydraulic MacroPower clamping unit.
But the proven hydraulic machines from the HM series, with or without ServoPower drive, and the multi-component machines, integrated production cells, high-speed applications and vertical rotary table machines will not be omitted either. On this wide range of exhibits, an equally wide range of processes will be presented, starting with IML applications and including the AIRMOULD gas injection process, as well as CELLMOULD structured foam technology, variothermic BFMOLD technology, silicone injection moulding and multi-component technology. Application examples will be demonstrated for medical technology, the automotive industry, technical injection molding and the toy and leisure equipment sector.
Extensive automation and the entire peripheral range supplied by the WITTMANN group complete the exhibition program. Automation and peripheral appliances will be shown both on the injection moulding machines and as stand-alone solutions.
In addition to the robots integrated in the machines, a W818 servo robot and a W821-UHS robot with a dynamic drive and gripper change system will be shown. The W821-UHS high-speed robot is laid out for parts removal at extremely high speeds and enables mold opening times of less than 1 second.
The peripheral appliances on display will include TEMPRO temperature controllers, Drymax E and Drymax Aton dryers, FEEDMAX material loaders, granulator models MAS, Minor, Junior, MC34Primus and ML33 and the blenders GRAVIMAX B14 with a lifting device and B34. The versatility of the metering valve will be demonstrated on a Gravimax 14 made of Plexiglas and filled with M&Ms.
The Competence Days will start with a series of technical presentations given by in- house and guest speakers. The presentations will be held in German and simultaneously translated into English. The guests of WITTMANN BATTENFELD will also have an opportunity to visit WITTMANN Kunststoffgeräte GmbH in Vienna. A joint dinner with evening entertainment will be offered at the end of each of the two days with an identical program.
