To coincide with the increase in business activity at Vollmer UK, the Sandiacre company has now employed three new members of staff, taking employee levels from 9 to 12, a 25% increase. The appointment of Donald Draper at the start of January 2013 and Kevin Jerabek in November 2012 as service engineers will bolster the company's commitment to its service and support of the expanding customer base.
With 20 years of electrical expertise and particular specialisation in hydraulic and electrical schematics, Donald will be focusing upon supporting customers with Vollmer and Loroch machine tools that are specified in the wood industry. Meanwhile Kevin Jerabek's appointment will be a seamless integration into the UK team, as Kevin has been working for Vollmer Germany for over eight years. With almost a decade of experience at Vollmer, Kevin is already travelling the UK providing service and support for UK customers.

The third new appointment for Vollmer is an apprentice. The new starter, 19 year old Jack Cooper will learn all aspects of the business from day to day office duties through to maintenance and customer support. "With the UK manufacturing skill set in decline through an ageing population of engineers, this is our chance to give youth an opportunity. We all need to transfer our knowledge to youngsters to move the manufacturing expertise of the UK to the next generation. With the appointment of Jack, we are doing our bit whilst giving customers the correct response as and when they need it," concluded Mr Allen.
