Minalogic
Micro and nanoelectronics are considered by the European Commission to be Key Enabling Technologies for the development of goods and services. KETs are regarded as crucial for ensuring the future competitiveness of European industries in the knowledge economy.
The aim of Minalogic is also to create a global business ecosystem in the field of smart miniaturized solutions based on leadership in research and innovation and on the leading role of major groups supporting the growth of SME.
Minalogic today: a pool of technology for the development of new ground-breaking products and solutions
Focusing on micro & nanotechnology and software, Minalogic has been the first international scale cluster to develop expertise in three strategic application markets central to today's societal challenges: health (eHealth/MedTech); energy and environment; and connectivity and mobility, where microelectronics and software have become essential in the race for performance and energy efficiency.
Based on leadership in research and innovation, Minalogic has become a potent pool of technology, in which global companies can integrate innovative technologies, developing new, ground-breaking products and solutions. The major companies that have already tapped into this pool of technologies include Schneider Electric, STMicroelectronics, HP, Orange, Samsung...
At the heart of the Smart Valley
Minalogic is based in Grenoble, France, an internationally renowned innovation ecosystem which has become a major high-tech hub at the heart of Europe, and France’s leading technology cluster for smart miniaturized solutions. The city provides a business ecosystem that is ideal for micro and nanotechnologies and software industries, with leading high-tech players including large corporations, small and medium-sized firms, highly innovative startups, prestigious universities and engineering schools, unique scientific facilities and several leading research laboratories.
One of the founding clusters of the Silicon Europe consortium
Through its recent industrial policy, the European Commission aims to make Europe the global leader in microelectronics. This is why Minalogic joined forces with three other European microelectronics clusters to form a consortium named Silicon Europe: Cluster Alliance for European Micro- and Nanoelectronics Industry. The cluster partners from Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands are linked by a common goal: to secure and expand Europe’s position as the world’s leading center for energy efficient micro- and nanoelectronics and information and communications technology (ICT). To achieve this goal, Silicon Saxony (Dresden/Germany), DSP Valley (Belgium), Minalogic (Grenoble/France) and High Tech NL (Eindhoven/Netherlands) are cooperating in research, development and business expertise. The Minalogic 2013-2018 strategic roadmap: “Promoting innovation on application markets is a priority !”
As France’s leading cluster in smart miniaturized solutions, Minalogic aims to achieve recognition as one of the world's top clusters in the field of integrated circuits, miniaturized devices, software and intelligent systems.
By 2018, Minalogic’s ambition is to bring together all integrative industries around smart solutions, in order to create innovative and competitive products.
