The COMPAMED Spring Convention is the annual expert meeting for developers, producers and users in the field of medical practice. The next event on May 3, 2017 at Frankfurt Airport will focus on micro fluidics in medical technology. During spring time the annual conference offers a preview of COMPAMED, Europe’s largest fair for suppliers of medical manufacturing, which takes place in Düsseldorf every autumn. Due to the great international relevance of COMPAMED, the conference language of the 11th COMPAMED Spring Convention is English for the first time.
The development of medical technology aims at decentralising care of patients. As a result all diagnostic and therapeutic measures and tools have to work at the "Point-of-Care (PoC)”. This offers big advantages as compared to the previous practice, a visit to the doctor’s office and test in a laboratory, like avoiding stationary stays, faster results for specific diagnosis and personalised treatment and the potential of saving on health care costs.
These devices for diagnostics and therapy have to work automatically and reliably so their advantages can be used. Samples have to be defined exactly in their amount to analyse, process and test them. Drugs have to be assembled and dosed personally for the individual care of the patient. In order to achieve this, micro fluidic systems are significant.
Due to this the next COMPAMED Spring Convention will present the role of micro fluidic components and systems in different presentations, like manufacturing methods and available materials for micro fluidic components and BioMEMS products, the use of micro fluidics in diagnostics and drug dosing as well as the combination of micro fluidics with BioMEMS components and sensors.
The conference is the annual expert meeting for developers, producers and users in the field of medical practice. The event will be organised by the IVAM Microtechnology Network, supported by Messe Düsseldorf.
