The collaboration brings advanced 3D measurement technologies to one of the world's most demanding engineering environments, supporting the development of the French challenger’s high-performance sailing program for the 38th and 39th America’s Cup campaigns.
FARO CREAFORM, a business of AMETEK, Inc. and global provider of 3D scanning and portable CMM solutions, announces a multi-year technology partnership with La Roche-Posay Racing Team, the French team competing in the 38th and 39th America’s Cup campaigns.
The collaboration brings together two organizations driven by a shared ambition: accelerating innovation, pushing the boundaries of performance, and transforming precision data into a competitive advantage.
The partnership will integrate FARO CREAFORM advanced 3D measurement, precision metrology, and quality control technologies into La Roche-Posay Racing Team's engineering workflow. From optical CMM scanner to portable measurement arms, these solutions will support the team's efforts to design, validate, and optimize critical boat components while accelerating decision-making throughout the engineering lifecycle. In a sailing environment where hull shapes, foils, structural components, and onboard systems must perform under extreme loads and constantly changing conditions, precision measurement becomes a key enabler of speed, reliability, and confidence.
More than a technology partnership, this collaboration reflects a common vision of innovation as a driver of performance. In the world of the America’s Cup, where every gram, every millimeter, and every design decision can influence how a boat accelerates, maneuvers, and performs on the water, access to accurate and reliable data plays a critical role in accelerating development, reducing risk, and improving engineering efficiency.
“The America’s Cup represents one of the most demanding engineering environments in the world. We are proud to partner with La Roche-Posay Racing Team and see our technologies contribute to the development of increasingly innovative and high-performing solutions. FARO CREAFORM’s proven technologies will help La Roche-Posay Racing Team integrate reliable 3D measurement data more effectively into its design and validation process.”
Stephane Auclair Divisional Vice President, Marketing & Demand Generation, FARO CREAFORM
Using FARO CREAFORM solutions, La Roche-Posay Racing Team engineers will be able to rapidly capture accurate dimensional data, inspect complex geometries, and validate critical structures throughout the development cycle. These capabilities will help accelerate design iterations and support the team’s relentless pursuit of performance gains, where even the smallest improvements can make a meaningful difference.
“Success in the America’s Cup is built on continuous innovation and the ability to make smarter decisions faster. FARO CREAFORM brings world-class expertise in 3D measurement and metrology, and its technologies will strengthen our engineering capabilities throughout the development process. Beyond performance, this partnership also creates valuable opportunities for knowledge-sharing and collaboration between our respective teams.”
Stephan Kandler, Founder and CEO K-Challenge Racing, the organisation behind the French Challenger La Roche-Posay Racing Team
This collaboration reinforces FARO CREAFORM commitment to supporting organizations that challenge conventional limits and leverage innovation to drive measurable results. The knowledge and insights generated through this partnership will help showcase how technologies developed for elite competition can create value across advanced manufacturing, transportation, aerospace, energy, and other industrial sectors.
