It will be unveiled at EMO 2025. Guests at EMO 2025 will be able to experience the newly developed five-axis machining center "Kern Fortis HD" live for the first time and see what it means when Kern Microtechnik pushes boundaries.
Kern Microtechnik at EMO 2025: Hall 12 Booth D16 September 22nd - 27th
Kern Microtechnik is proving its innovative strength at this year's EMO and is presenting the Kern Fortis HD, a five-axis machining center that pushes boundaries and enables machining in new dimensions. With the Kern Fortis HD, the Eschenlohe-based company is meeting the increasing demand for large, high-precision five-axis parts. Visitors can experience the machine live in Hall 12, Booth D16. Kern is also showing a Micro HD+ which is designed for serial production and the Femto E3 laser center.
With a perfect booth, Kern has a lot of space for innovations at EMO 2025. With the new Kern Fortis HD, the focus is not only technology but also on size. The machining center is 4 meter (13.12 ft) long, 2.8 meter (9.18 ft) wide and 3.3 meter (10.83 ft) high. This makes it the largest machine Kern has ever developed. Managing Director Simon Eickholt reveals one central feature right from the start: "The Fortis HD achieves the accuracies of the Micro HD even in this size, which can be experienced in our live demo at the booth. We are convinced that no other 5-axis machine has achieved such results – and this is even true for serial production."
Another highlight, the Kern Micro HD+, which was presented last year, produces parts for a wide variety of applications, and is of course also live at the show. The high-precision five-axis center demonstrates its high dynamics in multi-axis movements, including roughing operations.
Another exciting machining process live on the booth is the manufacturing of carbide stamps with the Kern Femto E3 laser center. These and similar parts are the specialty of this machine. It produces shape accuracies in the small single-digit micrometer range as well as surface qualities of up to Ra = 0.1 μm.
