Factory-aligned subsystem combines dynamic focus technology, controls, software and beam delivery into a single integrated solution.
OEMs across digital manufacturing face increasing pressure to process larger parts, improve throughput, and accelerate machine development timelines. Yet many advanced laser processing systems still require complex integration of lasers, optics, controls, software, and motion technologies from multiple suppliers, increasing risk and extending time-to-market.
To help machine builders overcome these challenges, Novanta announced the launch of its new 3-Axis Integrator Package at IMTS 2026 in Chicago.
Powered by Novanta’s Vectria™ dynamic focus technology, the factory-aligned subsystem combines a pre-aligned CO₂ laser, Vectria scan head, SMC controller, software, beam delivery, mounting hardware, and factory calibration into a single validated solution. Available with CO₂ laser sources ranging from 30W to more than 400W average power, the subsystem is designed for applications that exceed the capabilities of traditional laser marking systems. Large-Field Laser Processing. Dynamic Focus. Simplified.
Unlike Novanta’s conventional 2-axis systems optimized for flat-field marking, engraving, cutting, and converting, the 3-Axis Integrator Package adds dynamic focus control through a third axis, enabling higher-throughput processing across large work areas and complex three-dimensional surfaces.
The system supports field sizes exceeding one meter and helps reduce indexing and part movement, enabling higher throughput while expanding the range of applications OEMs can address.
“The future of manufacturing equipment demands larger processing areas, greater flexibility, and faster deployment,” said Kristen Hill, Director of Product, Novanta. “With the 3-Axis Integrator Package, OEMs gain access to advanced dynamic focus technology in a factory-aligned subsystem that reduces integration effort and helps accelerate commercialization.”
The solution is designed for a broad range of digital manufacturing applications, including digital converting, flexible packaging, automotive manufacturing, eMobility production, medical device manufacturing, large-area marking, and precision material processing.
Beyond expanding processing capabilities, Novanta’s integrated architecture helps manufacturers eliminate the complexity of coordinating multiple subsystem suppliers. By combining laser, scan head, optics, controls, software, application expertise, and warranty support under a single provider, OEMs can reduce development risk and focus engineering resources on machine innovation rather than subsystem integration. The subsystem is backed by a single warranty, integrated technical support, and Novanta’s global applications engineering network, giving OEMs one trusted partner from concept through production.
The platform also provides a foundation for intelligent process control by tightly integrating laser, motion, optics, and dynamic focus technologies to support productivity, process consistency, and scalability.
“OEMs want solutions that help them build differentiated machines, not spend valuable engineering resources integrating components,” added Hill. “Our goal is to provide a complete subsystem that enables customers to move from concept to production faster.”
The 3-Axis Integrator Package further expands Novanta’s portfolio of integrated laser processing solutions, providing manufacturers with a scalable path from traditional flat-field processing to advanced large-field and dynamic-focus applications.
