Shibaura Machine (formerly Toshiba Machine) is pleased to announce the launch of a high precision machine centre UVM range in Europe. The UVM range has many applications such as optical moulding of LED and automotive lights, moulds for smart phone parts and medical parts, and press moulds already a success story in Asian markets.
Aerostatic Spindle up to 60,000 min-1
Shibaura Machine originally developed and fitted the high precision aerostatic spindle, capable of 60,000 rotations, as standard to reduce customer's processing time and significantly improve the machining surface quality. Due to the virtually unlimited life of the spindle, which uses non-contact air bearings, the customer can significantly reduce maintenance costs.
Supportable software for precision process
The advanced comprehensive support software, UVM-TSA, which is of Shibaura Machine’s own design, make for improved workability. Machine operators avoid unnecessary actions and benefit from functions such as automatic warming up, cutter wear measurement in pre/post processing, cutter type checks before processing, and cutter life management. This ensures higher machining accuracy and automation. Automation systems can be customised to meet each customer's specific needs.
Linear motor driven system 10nm control unit
Setting the command unit and display unit to 10 nm has never been easier but will still ensure the linear motor of the UVM-450D(HE) drives faithfully to NC directives and there is little to no disturbance of the processing path. Now customers can achieve highly accurate fine shape processing along with smoother curved surface processing.
